Lake Hāwea View, an exquisite 25-acre property nestled in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, offers a breathtaking vantage point over the shimmering waters of Lake Hāwea. This architecturally designed homestead, clad in stone and cedar, is artfully crafted to capture stunning vistas of both the lake and mountains from its kitchen, dining, and outdoor living spaces. A stay at this unique retreat promises an unforgettable experience for you and your loved ones.

The property features an inviting open-plan living area equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a beautiful stacked stone fireplace both indoors and outdoors. Expansive sliding cedar doors open from the dining room onto immaculate lawns, a BBQ and spa area, all offering panoramic views of the lake and mountains. Relax in the luxurious comfort of leather lounge suites and soft natural furnishings or unwind in the afternoon sun on the elevated day bed. The main kitchen area boasts large granite countertops and a built-in espresso machine. For the ultimate relaxation, enjoy a traditional outdoor Canadian Red Cedar barrel sauna with panoramic viewing window that can accommodate up to eight people and an ice bath that can accommodate up to four people.

An additional guest house complements the main dwelling, featuring three bedrooms, bathroom and a second kitchen and dining area.

Located in a serene and private setting, shielded from prevailing winds and elements, the property can comfortably accommodate up to 12 overnight guests. For special events, it can host up to 80 guests.

Main Lodge // sleeps up to 8

The main lodge has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, offering ample space for guests.

On the upper level, you’ll find an ensuite master bedroom suite, featuring a Californian King size bed. The suite comes with its own balcony providing stunning views of the lake and a walk-in wardrobe. Adjacent to this master suite is a smaller room equipped with two single beds — perfect for children or additional guests.

Descending to the main house’s eastern wing, you’ll find two generously sized bedrooms, each furnished with Super King beds that can be split into two king singles based on your needs. Both rooms feature Rimu French doors that open onto the lawn and built-in wardrobes. The larger room houses a sofa bed, suitable for an extra child, and is also the ideal size for a porta-cot.

Adjacent to these two bedrooms is a well-appointed main bathroom.

Towards the main kitchen and living area downstairs, there’s an additional bathroom equipped with a shower and toilet, conveniently connected to the laundry. This bathroom is accessible to all guests and is ideally located for everyday use.

The main house features underfloor heating, maintaining a comfortable temperature of 19-21 degrees year-round, ensuring a cosy stay regardless of the season.

The Guesthouse - sleeping provisions for 4

The guesthouse is a self-contained unit adjoined to the main lodge featuring its own kitchen, bathroom and three additional bedrooms.

Upstairs, the first bedroom, with a stunning lake view, has its own private balcony and a Super King bed that can be split into two king singles upon request.

The second bedroom features a built-in wardrobe and two single beds which can be joined to form a king bed if needed.

The third bedroom has a queen bed and built in wardrobe.

These three bedrooms share a main bathroom located downstairs next to the kitchen.

For your comfort, the guesthouse is heated by a heat pump and a log burner, with each room also equipped with a wall heater.

Adjacent to the kitchen, you’ll find a single garage that houses a sauna.

Additionally, there is an extra room often used as a playroom for children, outfitted with a TV, bean bags, and plenty of games.
